February half term was enjoyed with an Activity Day to RSPCA, West Hatch.
Somerset in Care Council and Somerset Leaving Care Council (SiCC and SLCC) took part in an activity session organised by Alice and Gemma and learnt more about animal welfare, the needs of animals and made enrichment toys for cats and dogs.
We were also lucky to visit the Cattery and see the seals during our visit.

“My favourite part was seeing the seals slight fishy smell but they’re so cute. I couldn’t take any pictures of the animals as they don’t allow pictures but I’m sure we can plan another trip there at some point.”
During our break, we had some fun on the ride on ponies and zebras, which resulted in some brilliant videos on the groups WhatsApp!
“Thank you so much for coming yesterday. It was fantastic to meet the group, and we loved their enthusiasm, questions and answers! We hope they enjoyed the session as well and we would love to work with you all again.” Alice, Community Engagement Manager.
Another trip to RSPCA will be scheduled for August 2026.
