Coming into Care

Coming into Care

Being in care can be confusing and it can be hard to make sense of, you probably have a lot of questions in your head. That’s ok, because you’ve got plenty of people on your side whose job it is to care for you and so remember that you’re the one that matters most and that you’re not alone.

It can be hard and might take a few months to get used to it, but it will get better.

With a group of young people that are in or leaving care called the Somerset Care Council, we have put together a short film that will help guide you through the why, the where and the what of coming in to care.

Your Journey – Coming in to Care

Your Journey – Coming in to Care, is an animation and guide written by the members of SiCC & SLCC to tell you everything you need to know about being in care.

Virtual School

Although we are not a ‘real’ school with buildings and classrooms, Somerset Virtual School aims to do the very best we can to help Somerset Children Looked After and Previously Looked After children enjoy education and succeed in the real schools they attend.
