27 August 2026
During August members of the Somerset in Care and Leaving Care Council (SiCC & SLCC) were invited to art days as part of a project with the South West Heritage Trust.
The South West Heritage Trust’s project ‘The Stories That Make Us’ explores the themes of cultural heritage, home, belonging and finding your place in the world.
The project began in January and SiCC & SLCC were visited by representatives for the project during their April meeting, where they talked about how they’d like to get involved and when they’d like to work on their art.
During the April meeting, SiCC & SLCC decided to focus on printing with Somerset community engagement artists InkJam and also explore photography with Carolyn Lefley.
Members of SiCC & SLCC really got stuck in, developing new skills and techniques. You can see some of their masterpieces and photos from the day below.
