SLCC stand for Somerset Leaving Care Council. We are a group of young people who are 16+. We meet once a month with SiCC. We discuss things which we believe are important to young people who are in care, about to leave care and those who have already left.
We have own logo which was designed by one of our members.
We get up to all sorts of things from interviewing professionals, attend their training days and meetings, we make our own films and attend local and national events to name a few. We always welcome new members, so if you would like to pop along, why don’t you give our participation officer; Lesley a call or text to find out when we are next meeting on 07858983356
You can have a look at some of the things we get up to below!!
To read the press release about the visit click HERE We were nominated by Councillor Leigh Redman and the Lead Member for Children & Families, Councillor Frances Nicholson, who came to our meeting to present us with the Award. Every SiCC and SLCC member received a copy of the certificate and we felt really proud of our achievement. Unfortunately not all our members were present to receive the award.
